My first solo wedding of 2019… how exciting! This beautiful wedding took place at the Cross Roads Venue just outside of Huntsville. Sydney and Brad’s big day was the perfect kick start to my busy season. I’ve known Sydney for as long as I can remember. Living in a small town lets you have some sort of connection with basically anyone in the city limits. She was in high school when I was in middle school, and since my dad was a teacher I was constantly around the high school kids. Her sister, Brooke, played basketball for my dad, and they both helped coach the middle school volleyball players. I also took Brooke’s engagement pictures when I first started my photography business. So, I know this family pretty well!!
It’s crazy to look back and see how much everything has changed. The shy middle-schooler Sydney and Brooke knew would have never photographed an engagement session or wedding, but here we are! We could not have asked for a prettier day. The sun was shining all day long, and it wasn’t too hot or too cold. The florals and details were beautiful. The wind was blowing to keep a cool breeze. So basically, it was all around the best day for a wedding.
There were, however a couple of funny mishaps I need to share… because it wouldn’t be a true wedding day without a couple of problems?! To start the day off, while I was getting ready to photograph the bridesmaids’ dresses… the steamer exploded. I guess I shouldn’t say exploded, but it was spouting water all over the dresses. Luckily, Brooke and I were there to grab anything valuable and unplug the steamer. I’m glad it was just water! To end the day… Brooke lost the Brad’s ring DURING the ceremony. They had to borrow a ring from the crowd. It wasn’t funny at the time, but now we can all look back and laugh because we DID find it during family formals. (Don’t kill me Brooke for calling you out!!)
So, overall Brad and Sydney’s wedding day was awesome. They now have the cutest family with three beautiful, little girls!!! Hopefully, they can add a boy to their family in the near future. Brad will definitely need him! Thank you Brad and Sydney for letting me be a part of your day. Enjoy your blog post (and your honeymoon)!
