It’s crazy to realize just how fast things can change. Alabama Eden hosted this Oak Meadow Event Center Styled Shoot a day before the Covid-19 outbreak happened. After this day, the country basically went into lock down. I am so sad for all of the brides having to reschedule their weddings, and my heart goes out to all of the wedding vendors who are being affected as well. I’m also so thankful for all of the workers who are considered essential and all of the things they are doing to keep our country going. I’m also thankful for family and praying for those that are alone.

On a lighter note, this quarantine time has really helped me appreciate the value of things so much more. I’ve always recognized how much family mattered, but I am guilty of not taking the time out of a busy schedule to spend intentional time with the people that have always been there for me. I’ve been spending so much more time with the people at home, and it feels so good. I’m so guilty of ditching my parents or grandparents for a night out with friends. While my friends are so important to me, so are the ones who have raised me. This pandemic has forced me to slow down, and I’m grateful. I’m realizing I need to prioritize things and create intentional time with everyone in my life.

You know, I do realize the value of things, but I just get so caught up with the “busyness” of life that I push them to the side sometimes. This past month has been different though. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on a run or walk this week and just stopped to look up and take everything in. I’m having to live in the present right now because I can’t make any plans, and honestly that’s how it should be. My entire calendar for April is covered in whiteout… it’s completely blank… and I’m beginning to realize that’s not necessarily a terrible thing. We are a society full of “next’s,” but God says to live in the present!

So, while there may be a lot of negative things to worry about (and trust me I’m a big worrier), there are SO many positive things to appreciate like family, friends, God’s creation, and something as simple as a breath of fresh air.
