This is a super exciting post for me to share! It’s exciting not only because it was my first in-home session, but Jason and Taylor are a part of my family. They’ve been dating for as long as I can remember, and I think everyone in my family would agree… six years if we need to be exact! When I saw that Jason had finally popped the question, I was shocked and so, so ecstatic for these two. I was also so honored that Taylor got in touch with me to shoot their wedding in October. It is going to be so much fun!

We started the session at their home which used to be my Great Grandma Martin’s. They have really worked hard on making this house their home. Taylor explained to me that it was very sentimental to them, so of course we included it in the pictures! Taylor and Jason like the old farmhouse style, which I completely adore. You can really tell how much time has been spent on this house with every room you enter. I asked Taylor where she got all of the antique decorations because I knew they didn’t come from just any store. She said most of the decor and furniture were treasures she found at thrift stores, so I love that we share a love for “thrifting”!

We then took the pictures outside since this was the first day of sunshine in over a week! It has been raining nonstop in Alabama, but God let the sun come out for our session. There was a tree with the tiniest white blooms (I’ll take any sign of spring I can get) in front of the house so we made a pit-stop to get some sunshine-filled pictures. We didn’t let the wind stop us either! I think it gave Taylor’s hair a nice windblown look.

Our last stop was at the property where Taylor and Jason will have their wedding. It is a beautifully aged white house with lots of character. This house will make the prettiest backdrop for the ceremony. It fit’s their rustic style perfectly! I seriously can’t contain my excitement for their wedding in October. It is going to be so beautiful. I may have even gotten a peek at Taylor’s wedding dress for the big day…
